Minutes of the Annual Report to the Congregation 
 

January 29, 2012

 

President Paul Bolm called the meeting to order.

Pastor Ted Niemi opened the meeting with a short prayer.  He then thanked the outgoing council members for their services for the preceding year, and asked for members to consider running for the council in the upcoming year.

He then turned the meeting over to the Church President Paul Bolm.

The first order of business was the approval of Neil Walden and Woody Wilk as leaders of the mission endowment fund.  Voted on and unanimously approved.

The next  order of the meeting was voting to confirm Francis Sullivan as the Church President for the upcoming year, and Jennifer Wilk as Church Secretary.   Voted on and unanimously approved.

The next order of business was to approve the motion to the church constitution for the formation of the Columbarium committee.  Voted on and unanimously approved.

Paul then asked the congregation if there were any changes or additions needed to the Annual Report, there were none, and it was voted on and approved.

Pastor Ted then closed the meeting with a prayer.

Minutes of the Annual Congregational Meeting

 

December 11, 2011

 

On December 11, 2011 at 10:15 AM, Council President Paul Bolm called the meeting to order.

Pastor Ted opened with a prayer.

Paul discussed the budget proposed for next year.

Last year’s (2011) budget was approved with a $15,000.00 deficit.

This year’s (2012) budget will be approximately $17.000.00 in the red.

The budget committee approved a $1,000.00 donation to the benevolence ministry. 

The biggest increase in the budget for next year will be  ($4,000.00) for payroll taxes.

There was no increase for raises for Pastor Ted, office staff, groundskeepers, etc.

Pastor Ted is being underpaid approximately $7,000.00.

There were no questions from the Congregation regarding next year’s budget.

The budget was moved and seconded,  approved by a show of hands.

The meeting was closed with a prayer by Pastor Ted.

Church Council Meeting

11-2-11

 

Pastor Ted opened the meeting with a reading from next Sunday’s Gospel,  then a short Prayer.

Columbarium Committee:

                Alan Hoffman

                Vonnie Sturgeon

                Francis Sullivan

Will give a report to the Congregation at the Congregational Meeting to be held in January.

Price set for Niches:  $1,500.00 for a single:  $1,750 for a double.  Each nitch will hold two (2).

This ministry will cost the Congregation nothing, everything will be paid for by the nitches, after the first set is sold, and there should be profits for upkeep and funds to fund other ministries.

The chosen name will be “Memorial Gardens”.

Scott Rawley made a motion to approve.  Julie Dixon seconded.  Unanimously approved.  Motion will be voted on at the January Congregational Meeting.

One of the new chairs has a small rip.  Can be repaired.  We have $600.00 left in the chair fund.  Use to buy new long tables?

All long tables have been moved to the Community Center.  Most of them are in pretty bad shape and need to be replaced.

Hall in Jacobsen, behind stage and air-conditioning room, needs to be taken apart and repaired.  Water damage, etc.

Men’s restroom needs extensive plumbing repairs.  Faucets and urinal need to be replaced.

Need to set up schedule for heating and air-conditioning service.

Roeding:  Mittens and candy canes

Westside Rescue:  Travel size toiletries, zip-lock bags etc.

60 to 70% of the congregation has signed pledge cards.

Once a month Church Dinners?

Has four (4) signed up for trip. Planning more fund raisers.

Needs volunteers for Westside Rescue:  Thanksgiving & Christmas.

Would like to donate toys from nursery,  Coats, socks, blankets etc.

Westside would like to use Jacobsen Hall for meetings.  Would like to borrow long tables for Thanksgiving  they will pick up and return.

We need to set up budget committee meeting sometime in mid December, before the Congregational Meeting to be held in January.

We need to change some of the wording in the lease for BIA.

Next meeting:  Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 5:30 pm in the conference room.
