Lutheran Church
Dear Friends, As I write this it is Ash Wednesday. That means we are at the beginning of another Lenten season. As is our tradition we will begin meeting each Wednesday night for a Soup Supper here at church starting this evening at 6:15. We will then have our Ash Wednesday service with the Imposition of Ashes. For the following five weeks we will offer spiritual growth opportunities for both children and adults. Julie will be available to be with the children and I will be with the adults. Our adult series will be using Louie Giglio’s series, “Life Interrupted.” Here is a description of that series:
“A pink slip you didn't see
coming. A devastating test result. An untimely death. Sooner or later,
interruptions come crashing in on us all, bringing with them a flood of
questions about life and truth. Why did this happen? Where is God? How am I ever
going to make it through these days? Yet, in the midst of the confusion, God
calls us to ask a different set of questions and embrace a new way of thinking,
a path that leads us to understand His purposes in a seemingly unstable world.
We will watch a video each week and then discuss the implications. Because of the length of the videos, and to provide for some discussion time, the adults will be starting around 6:45. That should give plenty of time to enjoy dinner with others from our church. This is an opportunity to grow in our relationship with God, each other, and whatever family members may join you. The topics for each week are listed below. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. I hope you will join us!
God’s Peace,
Pastor Ted
