Hi, women of Good Shepherd!
Every summer our W-ELCA at Trinity has a day of "summer Bible study."  We use the three summer lessons from Gather and make a good morning of it.  If any of your women would like to join us -- consider this a invitation to do so!   Let us know ahead of time approximately how many might be coming since we will be serving a $1 lunch.    --Margie Back, president of W-ELCA at Trinity.
EVERYONE IS INVITED TO THE SUMMER BIBLE STUDY AT TRINITY Tuesday, July 9th, 9:00 am. to noon           Sponsored by the Women of the ELCA
This is our summer annual day of study and fellowship, with men, women and youth welcome!  We will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a 40-minute discussion/study of Matthew 14:13-16, Mark 6:37, and Luke 9:13, entitled “Hungry Hearts.”   Following a brief coffee break, we continue with a 40-minute study using Mark 6:32-37a entitled “Do We Have Enough?”  Brunch ($1) will then be served, with the  final session based on Luke 9:10-13, “All Ate and Were Filled.”  Our leader this year will be Mariah Dje, Trinity’s director of youth and young adults.  Mariah is a graduate of California Lutheran University with a degree in Religion and a minor in International Studies.   She is currently working on an MA in Theology at Fresno Pacific.  We will gladly provide child care if you let us know you want that.
Please let us know if you plan to attend!

THE SYNOD ASSEMBLY IS HISTORY!

The Sierra Pacific Synod celebrated its 25th anniversary with the annual assembly held in Fresno this past week.   With challenging speakers, twenty-eight workshops, dealing with fourteen resolutions, electing new members to the synod council (including re-electing Kristina Garabedian of Hope Lutheran as our District E lay female), a busy youth convo, a powerful closing worship service on Saturday during which some local choir members sang in the massed choir, it was a busy and inspirational three days.  Thanks to Good Shepherd members Scott and Sharon Rowley, Pr. Paul and Julie Werfelman, Susan Gutierrez, Lois Green, and Kay Schumacher for helping to undergird the assembly.  It was a special pleasure to have Good Shepherd’s “alleluia kids” lining the hallway for the enjoyment of attendees.
