The 33rd Annual Brian Sturgeon St. Patrick’s Day Run
Runners and Walkers of all ages and skill levels will participate in the 33rd Annual Brian Sturgeon St. Patrick’s Day Run Saturday, March 17th , 2012 at Woodward Park, Fresno. The Event, which has become a Valley Tradition, raises funds for children and adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Unique hand crafted awards will go to the Bracket Winners. The Adult 4 Mile Run is a premier 30 points in race Director Ken Takeuchi’s Valley Runner of the Year series. In keeping with the Irish Theme, the Run and Walk is accompanied by a fund-raising arm called the ‘Pot O’ Gold” committee. Brian Sturgeon, namesake of the Event, was a Touch Bearer for the 2002 Winter Olympics. Starting times for the Kids Runs are 7:15 am, 7:25 am and 7:30 am. Starting times for the adults are 7:45 am for the 2 Mile Walk/Run and 8 am for the 4 Mile. Entry fees are $10 for kids and $21 for adults through March 16th, and $25 on Race Day. Anytime pre-registration 12 noon to 7 pm Wednesday, arch 14th at Sierra Running Company at 9447 North Fort Washington, Fresno; Thursday, March 15th at Sole-2-Soul, 4241 South Mooney Blvd., Visalia; and Friday, March 16th at Sole-2-Soul, 5052 N. Church Women United Join Adair Johnson at Church Women United’s World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 2nd at Providence Baptist Church, 2202 S. Walnut off California Avenue. The theme for the Worship is Let Justice Prevail. Registration is 9:30 am and a $700 luncheon follows Worship. Call Lois Green for reservations by Sunday, February 26th.

Good Shepherd Memorial Garden Update
Thanks to the Congregation for passing the Amendment to our Constitution to allow this special ministry to proceed.
Accordingly the Memorial Garden Committee has met and elected a Board. Board Members are Brenda Hofmann, Mary Schmidt, Vonny Sturgeon, Carol Sullivan and Neil Walden. Other committee members, Cheryl Montgomery, Jackie Miller, Alan Hofmann, Francis Sullivan and Ed Sturgeon have agreed to continue to serve in an advisory capacity as needed. Pastor Ted is an Advisor to this group.
Officers elected are Vonny Sturgeon and Neil Walden, Co-Chairs and Carol Sullivan, Treasurer.
