Mission Endowment Fund The Mission Endowment Fund was established in 1977 and operates under a charter approved by the membership of the congregation. Its purpose is to enhance the mission outreach of Good Shepherd Lutheran. Present gifts to MEF can be in the form of cash, gifts of securities, real estate, etc. Deferred gifts can be made through a donor’s will, trust or by designating the fund a beneficiary of life insurance or annuity policies. Gifts to the MEF are invested and only the interest or earnings are distributed. The principle remains intact to provide an ongoing source of funds to fulfill its objectives. The MEF is not a supplement to the annual operating budget of the congregation. The key word is MISSION, with support for four areas: individuals with special needs, local congregations, community outreach programs and ELCA national or global efforts. Your gift to the MEF will ensure that Christ’s ministry through Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will continue working for future generations.
